February 18, 2011  //  Posted by: cooldude  //  Category: Digital Cameras

Sometimes when you take out a print of the picture clicked by you using a digital camera, you will realize that the picture looks better in the digital camera. This is because of inappropriate resolution settings of your digital camera.

What is resolution? The digital picture consists of tiny solid color squares known as pixels. These pixels altogether make a picture. Usually a digital camera gives you three options for resolution; small, medium and large. When you set it at large, it captures maximum pixels in a shot which is equal to its capacity, while in the medium mode the pixels are reduced to half, and in small mode they become half the numbers in the medium mode.

The quality of a picture depends on the number of pixels. More pixels means the picture has been captured with more details. Thus choosing the setting which captures maximum number of pixels in a shot is the right resolution setting for your digital camera.

February 12, 2011  //  Posted by: cooldude  //  Category: Digital Cameras

Are you studying photography and aspire to be a professional photographer later? Then it is high time you opt for a DSLR camera rather than the conventional point and shoot ones. This article discusses about the differences between the two and tells how the DSLR scores over the point and shoot cams.

Firstly, the DSLR cameras have a much superior image quality and one of the best among the lot is Canon 20 D. Point and shoot devices are not that swift and cannot response immediately the moment you press the shutter. Thus you tend to miss many precious candid moments. But the DSLR cameras are well equipped with instant response with minimal shutter lag.

Unlike the point and shoot ones, DSLR cams have the capacity of continuous shooting. Besides, the point and shoot ones come with a single lens while the DSLR ones have a wide variety of interchangeable lens. Hence, the DSLR devices are much costly and complicated to use than the simple point and shoot ones.
